“We were not clinical”
Manolo González is frustrated but proud of the effort in the 0-0 draw with Real Sporting de Gijón
RCD Espanyol men’s coach Manolo González recognises a missed opportunity in the 0-0 home draw with Real Sporting de Gijón on Sunday.
González said, “We are missing out on being first or second because of our results at home, it is frustrating. The team did everything they had to do to win, and though we were not successful, I am proud of the team because they gave everything. It was a game we should have comfortably won 2-0”.
Espanyol played out a goalless draw against promotion rivals Sporting at the Stage Front Stadium, which leaves them six points off the top two that will go up automatically to LALIGA EA SPORTS.
González continued, “The game plan went well, but we were not clinical. If we do not score chances, it is very difficult to win a game. You have to go out at your best, make the most of all every option control every scenario”.
