“We need to be more regular”
Diop understands that the supporters can be nervous but says that sensations are better
Pape Diop has joined the group after playing with Senegal. The player, who has enjoyed minutes in most matches, said that the team has to be more regular and understands that supporters can be anxious after the first results.
“We need to be more regular and to start a good spell of results. We were able to win against Osasuna but three days after we lost against Celta and drew against Villarreal. We need to be calmer on the field and we will play more fluent”.
Diop said that “our sensations are better than last year, but if we are not able to win we will be in trouble. We are not having good results and that is what worries us. I can understand that supporters can be nervous but they shouldn’t because there is a lot left. What is clear is we can’t get nervous. We have to keep calm both in the good and bad moments. In the changing room we know what we are doing well and what wrong”.
Diop said that “Espanyol needs the points. Las Palmas are playing well and we want to get another good result as a visiing team. It is a team that hasn’t changed much, they like to have the ball so we will have to defend very well, steal them the ball and try to attack them with our fast players”.
About his situation Diop said that “there is more rivalry in the squad and the manager is who makes the final decision. The team is what counts; we must try to be better and after we can think about our personal situation”.
