“We have to show our level away from home”
Luis Miguel Ramis is focused on collecting the three points in a massive away trip to SD Eibar
Luis Miguel Ramis knows what his team are capable of but wants them to reach their potential in Saturday’s crucial trip to SD Eibar.
RCD Espanyol travel to Ipurúa knowing that victory would see them move above their opponents into the automatic promotion places. With the Mágico’s away form proving to be a hurdle as of late, the men’s first team coach wants to see a statement performance from his side.
Ramis said, “What we are missing in away games is what we have at home. Away from home we are not as fluid and we make more concentration errors, while that has not cost us so much at home. We want to eliminate those mistakes and get closer to the team we want to see, and to do that, we must show our level away from home”.
Fernando Calero and Pol Lozano miss out on the travelling squad this weekend, while Uruguayan striker Gaston Vallés from Espanyol’s B team has been called up to the senior squad for the first time.
The coach carried on, “There are fewer and fewer games left, although there are many points missing. It is an important day tomorrow, away from home we have to show our level and we have to do it at a ground where there is a great rival in front of us. They have good players and a lot of confidence at home.
“Eibar are a very complete team made to fight for promotion to the First Division, but so are we and we also have our qualities. I hope we get closer to what we want to be to put them in difficulty. I think the challenge is quite exciting. We have a new opportunity to continue the good work at home and the three points we got last week”.
