“We have had a difficult start”
Víctor Sánchez said that it is a long term project and that on going changes need time
He is one of the most experienced players in the team and one of the captains. Víctor Sánchez said that the team has had a difficult start and asked for more time. “We have new players, new manager and things have changed and we need time ; you don’t see changes from one day to another. The results haven’t been as good as we deserved, but we have to keep calm because is a long time project and in 20 or 30 games we will be talking about other things. We have to remember that we have had a difficult start against Real Madrid, Villarreal or Sevilla and that we haven’t been right”.
He also said that “these league breaks are good to work, correct things and recover teammates” and he also said “that when you don’t win your last match you want to play as soon as possible”.
Again Espanyol will play on Friday with some doubts. “It happened to us last time and it happens to us again, but this time is more complicated because we have a three hours journey and we have to fly one day before. Maybe in these weeks there shouldn’t be matches on Friday”.
However, Víctor said that “there is a lot of expectation on the team. We are better than last year despite we have less points. Sensations are better. We have fought in all the matches and we have been close to winning. If we had nine points instead of six we would be better”.
Victor Sanchez was also unable to avoid talking about the coach's decision to place him on the left side. "I trained in various positions and the coach has me for everything he needs: if I have to play in another position, I will. I'm happy because I have played the seven matches".
