“We can assure the permanency”
Álvaro said that the team can give a big step this Friday against Levante
Espanyol’s good spell of results got to an end last Saturday against Atlético de Madrid in a match with two very different halves. Álvaro González said that the team did well in the first half, but after Griezmann’s goal Espanyol didn’t fell so comfortable on the pitch. “The team first half was good. The first aim was to try to score first because we knew that Atlético de Madrid scored first, it then would be very difficult. The same was that the draw the match before half time and the match changed from them. Their second goal gave them advantage and it was very difficult for us. Third goal was definitive”, said Álvaro González to Espanyol TV.
The defender said that “we have to stay with the good sensations” and he also said that “the match against Levante is very important because we can assure the permanency”. Therefore, Álvaro said that “those matches in which certain teams have something at stake are extremely difficult and probably this is the last option for Levante to try to avoid relegation. We should know to play with this, because the anxiety can be very dangerous for them. We must know how to play this match and win because it will be a giant step”.
To finish Álvaro said that “it is good that most teams are involved in different targets because nobody can relax. Everything is pretty tied and that is good because everybody is fighting for something”.
