“We’ll go to Elche with full energy”
Sporting director Fran Garagarza sends a positive message ahead of the final few matches
RCD Espanyol sporting director Fran Garagarza wanted to send a message of optimism on St. George’s Day going into the final stretch of the league campaign.
Speaking at the Club’s Sant Jordi stand on Tuesday, Garagarza said, “It is clear that we were bad in the match against FC Andorra. The first half was one of the worst games we have played at home. We have to be self-critical and we have done it in the last few hours, but if we analyse other recent games I think that the team has been good and that we have view take a broader context than just one game”.
He continued, “Each match is very difficult and we have only lost once at home. Now matches against direct promotion rivals lie ahead and we have to take that step of conviction and get the points we need. Each game will be of maximum tension, but the team is doing well. We will go to Elche with full energy - we already beat them here – and it is a six pointer for us”.
