“The victory against Sevilla has given us a lot of confidence”
Gerard says the victory against Sevilla is an injection of confidence for the team and adds that "they are aiming to improve all the time"
Gerard Moreno is one of the big names in the season. The Catalan striker, top scorer of the team with eight goals, said that he is going through a good personal moment but believes that it is merit of the collective performance. The striker also said that the team wants to keep growing and that the goal is to achieve the three points this Saturday against Malaga.
"We work to be a good team and improve every day. It will be difficult to win Malaga because they take several days without winning and they will try to do it in front of their fans. Our goal is to go for the three points and we will make a good match to achieve it", said Gerard. "We work to be a better team, to be strong in defence, to create more opportunities. We are a better team than when we started and we hope to be better in two months time. The big challenge this season is to finish it better than when we started. We have improved a lot in all aspects, the rivals have a hard time winning and we want to end up being a good team as we are trying. If the team believes, we will end well", he said.
The player, in this sense, points out that the victory against Sevilla was important "because of how people are and how people enjoyed it. The fans conveyed their support and that gives you confidence to continue believing in what we were doing. Winning a team like Sevilla is an injection of morale. Defeating Sevilla was very rewarding and gives us confidence to continue working and insist on what we are doing".
On a personal level, Gerard is being one of the most outstanding players, but he insists that the merit belongs to the group. "I am in a good moment but it is merit of the collective work that we do in the field. Forwards have opportunities because the team arrives in the area, there are many centers and that makes the striker shot and have opportunities. I am in a good personal moment and I hope to continue helping", he said.
