“The aim is to win games and get promoted”
Pere Milla remains focused on the ultimate target for the season ahead of Levante's visit
Pere Milla insists that the squad is clear that there the only objective is promotion, speaking in a press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash with Levante.
Milla said, “My goal is to get promoted with Espanyol. I want to help my teammates because it is clear that the aim is to win games and get promoted. I have always received criticism, but I am fine and mentally strong. Beyond the criticism I may receive, I will give everything I have for Espanyol”.
RCD Espanyol host another promotion challenger at the Stage Front Stadium, looking for a reaction from the away defeat to Eldense last week. They are still within touching distance of the automatic promotion spots, but with work to do on Sunday.
Milla continued, “This is not about me scoring 15 or 20 goals: this is about Espanyol getting promoted. We are aware of the current situation, but I have always said that we will not be promoted on matchday 30. This ends on matchday 42 and we will be fighting until the end. Winning is what you have to do and be convinced”.
