“Now is the time to respond”
Luis Miguel Ramis is targeting the three points for the trip to AD Alcorcón this Sunday
Luis Miguel Ramis wants to return to winning ways when his team travel to AD Alcorcón on Sunday.
RCD Espanyol were held to a goalless draw at home by SD Huesca last time out, and although they remain just two points shy of the summit, the target is to close that gap and get the three points at the Estadio Municipal de Santo Domingo.
Ramis said, “It is always a difficult and uncomfortable ground to go to, so we must be as competitive as possible. They want to be strong at home and they take it to the extreme. We will go for it, we know the value of the points. Do we want to get promoted? Do we want automatic promotion? Now is the time to respond. We have to fight until the end”.
Espanyol are unbeaten in three outings and with a long-awaited victory on the road, which they picked up in dramatic fashion at Ipurúa against SD Eibar. They face an Alcorcón side needing points in a relegation battle, with both sides desperate for the points for their respective objectives.
Rams continued, “The team has to change things away from home. At home we have been much more reliable, but I have not liked what I have seen away from home. The idea is the same, but sometimes a mistake makes you rush. We are positive and we want to give the push we need to be where we want”.
The Catalan coach concluded, “We can do better, without a doubt. We are two points off first place and one from second. We are convinced that this message is clear to us and on Sunday we have to put it into practice.”
