Jordi Lardín said that he is confident in the actual squad
The board of directors has decided to make a change in the sports structure. Jordi Lardín has been named the new football director. “We analyze the situation, we make decisions and we think that the right person to lead this project is Jordi Lardín. He is the person to find balance and the person who can guarantee the success between the first team and the Academy. In this new stage we have to potentiate our Academy. Lardín will become the new football director and the director of the Academy to coordinate both areas. The club has made a change and we think he is the right person”, has said our CEO, Ramon Robert.
Lardín thanked the club and the direction the opportunity he has been given. “For a person that played in the Academy, in the first team and that has lead the project in the Academy is a great honor to be the new football director. It is important to join the figure of the sports director and the Academy. I want to make the best Espanyol in history”.
Lardín said the “I am satisfied with the work we have done in the Academy but it has to carry on. It is a change because we join two areas; it is a step forward in this project. We will continue giving opportunities to the player of the Academy and try to find what we don’t have outside. I have time because is a long term project but we have important players in the squad that is stronger than it seems”.
“We have a great squad with great players and we have to be confident. I don’t want to impose my ideas; things have to be discussed”, he said.
