“I have no doubts in automatic promotion”

Martin Braithwaite has full belief in achieving direct promotion back to the top flight

With four games and four finals remaining, Martin Braithwaite insists that he still believes in automatic promotion.

RCD Espanyol enter the final few weeks of the regular season pushing for a top two finish, where they come up against second-place Real Valladolid this weekend.

Braithwaite said, “There are four games left and a lot can change. We arrive at a very important moment of the season. The team is doing very well and this is our moment. I am only focused on automatic promotion. We are closer than ever to the goal and we have to believe. Everything can change in one match, and I have no doubts that we will achieve automatic promotion”.

The Dane is both the top scorer for Espanyol and in LALIGA HYPERMOTION with 20 goals, leading the line in excellent fashion throughout the season. Two of the Mágico’s remaining four fixtures come against promotion rivals, as the need for points is more crucial than ever.

Braithwaite continued, “We have had many consecutive draws recently and now it is time to win. It is a very important match against a very strong team that is in good form, but we are going to attack. We have to give more, we are very close; the other day we had chances to win, but it wasn't to be, so we are going to do it on Saturday”.
