Iturraspe and Bernardo have been presented as new players of the RCD Espanyol de Barcelona 19/20
Bernardo Espinosa and Ander Iturraspe have been presented this Tuesday as new players of RCD Espanyol in the facilities of the hotel TorreMirona, where the white and blue squad is doing the preseason stage.
Accompanied by the vice-president Carlos García Pont and by Rufete, sports director, both have shown themselves excited with the new professional stage that they are now beginning and convinced that they will contribute with their "grain of sand" in a season that they predict "exciting and with the hunger that has always characterized me", as the Colombian defence has assured.
Precisely Bernando has expressed his "maximum illusion" and his gratitude "for this opportunity that arrives to me in an ideal moment. I always think that the best is to come, but I am in a moment of maturity in my profession and I try to improve every day".
The defender has also argued that "it's a good time to jump on the bandwagon" of Espanyol and has recognized that, for him, it will be his first participation in European competition, so "I could not miss this opportunity. It is an opportunity to continue growing professionally. An important chapter in my life begins for me. It is the greatest opportunity I have to enjoy this at the highest level”.
For his part, Iturraspe has revealed that "it is the first time that change of team" and has emphasized that "it was very clear that it was the moment to continue competing at the highest level. It's a perfect club for my situation, a historic one. I come with a lot of desire to work. We have in front of us a very exciting season in which I'm going to leave everything".
The midfielder has also indicated that he comes with the intention of contributing things because "a footballer is learning and improving every day. This change comes to me in luxury. It's the perfect moment. I really wanted to change and Espanyol is an ideal opportunity. I wanted to keep competing and Espanyol gives me a historic club in a wonderful city. All the conditions at the time of taking the decision satisfied me point by point”.
In the same way, he stressed that he had to face "a change of cycle" that began with 10 years in Athletic. "I needed it and I had it very clear. I feel very well and I have the perfect age. The sports project that Espanyol has is serious and can help me see everything again and live something different from what I had lived until now", he insisted.
