"We will make the highest possible effort"
Rubi is excited to start a new phase at Espanyol and said that "it is a dream tht has become real"
Joan Francesc Ferrer, 'Rubi', could not hide his great satisfaction for coming back to Espanyol to manage the first team, in a presentation in which he was accompanied by Vice President Carlos Garcia Pont and general sports director, Óscar Perarnau.
The coach, who has achieved the promotion to the First Division with SD Huesca a few weeks ago, has acknowledged that "I have the feeling that in my previous stage we left a good record and to be able to train this team is a dream come true".
"I want to thank Espanyol for the confidence. I have noticed a lot of love from the people, they look happy with us and we arrive with a lot of hope and strength. We hope that they are happy with our job. I also want to congratulate David Gallego because he has done a great season and we have come here to become a true Club strong and united", he said.
Rubi said that his feelings are great. "There are a lot of people that I know. My idea is to be daring. We also have to work tactical and strategic aspects and adapt to a situation more or less complicated, but we want a daring team. Our idea is to start working with the club, that the team has the ideas clear. I would like to see a lot of years but it depends on the ball".
"Season ticket holders love their club, but I can tell them that we're going to give the very best of each one of us. We are going to be involved with this project, we are going to do our best and give something to the people to identify with us.
"This year is special, it is the most important milestone in my career. You can not dream because in football it all depends on the ball, but we are going to work with all our illusion”.
"I prefer short squad because the players need minutes. I prefer short squad, that is balanced and we also want the players of the second team to have their opportunities", he said.
"Espanyol has been characterized for being a team very disciplined tactically and difficult to make opportunities Defensively it has a very high note The change with David I gave him a little more joy I want my team not to give away anything, so important is one thing just as the the other”, he said.
Rubi has worked hard to arrive to First Division. "Our first step was Girona. When Raul Agne phoned us was very important. We worked hard, we were constant. In First Division we had not had results, but we have improved our previous stages ".
"I thank Rubi for his will and positive attitude. Hi, I can develop his career personally and professionally and I hope that he helps our club", said Óscar Perarnau.
