"We wanted to start well"
Rubi said that it was important to begin the championship well after the victory against Levante
RCD Espanyol has started LaLiga well with seven points in these first four games. The blue and white coach, Joan Francesc Ferrer Rubi, has said that one of his goals was to start the championship well. "Many things happen during the season, but people remember the beginnings and the endings a lot. The last campaign ended very well and we were clear that we wanted to start well. After the pre-season we did, we thought we could start well and although I think we could have some more point, I'm happy", said Rubi. In this sense, he said that he likes people to be "excited" with the team, but has qualified that the costumes are "cautious, humble and ambitious”.
The manager has said that one of the keys has been to have patience. "We know that we are going to find this type of matches on more occasions and the team has to have patience, but without ceasing to be vertical". Rubi, likewise, has given all the merit of victory to the players. "We want to be a solid team, but you always depend on the players and we have very good players", he said.
Finally, asked about the fact of having repeated the lineup in the last three games has said that it is something unusual in him. "I would say it's the first time in my career. The usual after losing is to make some changes, but we wanted to give continuity. In any case, we have three games in a week and more people will play", he said.
