"We lacked more precision to get ahead"
Quique Sánchez Flores emphasizes that Real Sociedad is a rival "very good" and Anoeta, "a very complicated field"
Espanyol added a new draw, this time against another European team that, as Quique Sánchez Flores warned, ahead in a few years in the project to the blanquiazules. On the match, the technician stressed the deffensive order but regretted a little more precision at certain times.
"We played in a very complicated field against a very good opponent with difficult characteristics to combat and that has players unbalanced. In any case, we were well and transmitted defensive rigor, although we lacked more precision to get ahead. We missed that third or fourth pass to go forward and do more damage. Protected by the defence we have remained in the match without passing difficulties", said the coach, Quique Sánchez Flores.
The blue-and-white manager said that "the rival pushes and knows what they are doing. We have moved meters in the pressure without the ball, but with the ball it is convenient to gain meters. In the first half we were successful and in the second we have cost more because we defended closer to the goal. We conceded little, but if we had been more skilful taking the ball out of the fast attacks, maybe we would have been closer to the game we wanted".
