"We feel a duty to get the three points"
Luis Miguel Ramis cannot fault the team's ambition as he previews the visit of Villarreal B
Luis Miguel Ramis is convinced that the work he is doing will bear fruit and that the team is moving in the right direction.
RCD Espanyol continue their preparations for Saturday’s match against Villarreal B, in what the men’s head coach recognises as a must-win game. Espanyol continue their chase for promotion as well as a first win of 2024, which they will hope to get with the backing of the Espanyol fans at the Stage Front Stadium.
Ramis said, “We feel a duty to get the three points. My objective is to focus on the squad we have and get the most out of them. I am calm and I feel the confidence of the Club. We are a good team with good players, and though some will have more minutes and others less, they are all equally important”.
Espanyol welcome Villarreal’s youth team to the Temple this weekend with sights set on returning to the top two, currently sitting three points off the automatic promotion spots. A near full-strength side will be available to Ramis, with the exception of Nico Melamed, who continues his rehabilitation from injury.
Ramis continued, “I do not see ambition problems in this team. It is not a lack of ambition because all have the most ambitious goal in mind: to be in the first division. The team tries everything and works hard. We have to gain confidence with what we do, and I am convinced of the quality of the players and how they are developing”.
He wrapped up by saying, “I want us to be able to send the fans the positive feelings that they deserve. Lately it has not been the way we wanted, but I look forward to having you join us on this path and having good times with us”.
