"We do not want the League to end"
Javi López said that the team has finished at a high level and aims to add three more points against Athletic
Season assesment: "We had a rather irregular season. We came from a year in which all expectations were achieved and this year we have not been regular nor have we found the strength of last year. We are finishing very well and now we do not want the League to end. We are accompanying the results and we have our mind set in Bilbao to achieve 49 points. This will not improve the season but we want to start the next season with the greatest possible energy".
Keep the excitement: "It is not the same to end up with a good feeling or to do it with a defeat. The team is now showing its best version".
Inputs and outputs: "That's normal in football at the end of each season and also in the market windows that there are during the year. They are natural things and you have to take it that way. Some will leave, but the club will always be here. The shield is what remains and the club will go on".
Disenchantment: "We put ourselves in everyone's shoes and when the project starts, they say things with the best will in the world, but, as it progresses, there are situations that are not achieved and things that do not go well. It's the law of football. It will not be the first time neither the last.
Quality jump: "Going to Europe is not easy. Is a reality. When you put goals you also do not know how teams will evolve. We were all aware that expectations were very high, but we also knew that it was very difficult".
Personal objective: "It has always been to improve in each training to make it difficult for the coach. Now I'm feeling very strong and hopefully I can retire at Espanyol in many years. I'm in the hands of the club".
Athletic - Espanyol: "This year we have been two very similar teams. They had been going to Europe for many years, but they did not expect to be this way this year. We, seeing what we had done last season, did not expect to be like that either".
Complicated year: "We have had more complicated seasons. I would not rate it as the worst".
