Melendo believes that it is a great opportunity to play the Supercopa of Catalunya and hopes to "win" and "do it well"
Óscar Melendo, author of the only goal that has served to defeat Barcelona in an official match this season, knows that this Wednesday he can have a new opportunity to return to the starting line-up after several games without success. The Supercopa of Catalunya, against Barcelona, is a match to which "we are going with great enthusiasm. It is an opportunity for those of us who do not play habitually. We hope to win against Barcelona and we want to do it in the best way".
He said that this tournament "is a great opportunity for young people. I made my debut with the first team in the last edition of the Supercopa and it was very good for me to gain confidence and to be summoned with the first team".
He said that his goal to Barcelona had its importance for being the rival he was, but he assures that "I continue working to give the maximum. Both for me, as for the team. But it is true that, for me, that goal was the greatest happiness there could be".
He said that he is in the process of learning in his first season in the top category and stresses that "I am living it well and with peace of mind. I lived that happiness of the pericos against Barça and then I started against Sevilla. Then I have not had minutes, but I'm happy, although I hope I can have more. I work to get more minutes and I try to take advantage of everything the coach gives me".
Finally, it has been congratulated of the clear improvement of Diego Lopez, although he notes that "we are still waiting for the results of the last tests that are being done. We hope he gets well soon. He sent us a message to tell us that it's okay".
