Vini Souza: “We go with a lot of confidence”

The Brazilian midfielder speaks ahead of Sunday's trip to Madrid

Vini Souza spoke to Espanyol Media ahead of Sunday’s match against Atlético de Madrid.

RCD Espanyol travel to the Spanish capital this weekend, with nine days of rest since they last played against RCD Mallorca. The blanquiazul midfielder look ahead to the match while reflecting on his time at the Club so far.

Vini said, "We are very close to changing this dynamic and the results will be positive. We have a team that wants to win, we are working very hard every day so that the results can change and be more positive.”

The Brazilian joined Espanyol on loan this summer and has played in every match so far under Diego Martínez. He also leads the division with the most recoveries in LaLiga this season, with teammate Leandro Cabrera not far behind.

On Atlético de Madrid, Vini said, “They will be a very tough opponent. We are playing a big team and we always want to give everything. It will be a very hard match but like any match in LaLiga.

“We have to control the ball and play well. We're going with a lot of confidence and want to get the three points.”
