RCD Espanyol "Aleví A" cap off commendable tournament in Orlando, Florida
RCD Espanyol “Aleví A” (under-12s) finished as runners-up in the LaLiga Promises International tournament in the United States.
Marc Olivet's team participated in the seventh edition of the competition from 23rd to 25th June, held at the ESPN Wide World Center in Orlando, Florida.
After progressing from the group stage by beating Pumas de México and drawing with Real Madrid - champions of the national tournament in Villarreal held the week before – the young pericos knocked Valencia out in the quarter-finals before meeting Real Madrid again in the semi-final, both prevailing on penalties.
The team reached the final having conceded only one goal against thanks to the great defensive work of the team. In a very even final, Espanyol were unable to beat Atlético de Madrid, who took the trophy home after winning 2-0.
After winning the league, the Catalunya Cup and the MIC Torneig, the under-12s closed the season with a commendable silver medal in a high-level tournament.
