Triple presentation
Denis Suárez, Pacheco and Gragera are unveiled as RCD Espanyol players
Denis Suárez, Fernando Pacheco and José Gragera were presented as RCD Espanyol players.
With all three signings made on deadline day of the winter transfer market, the trio were unveiled at their presentation at the RCDE Stadium. They are also confident in their chances of helping the Club ahead of the start of the second half of the season.
Suárez said, “I’m really happy to be here at Espanyol, it is where I have wanted to be for a long time. I’m delighted and come here with a lot of excitement for Saturday. I want to play and I can adapt to anything. I have not been able to play this year, but I have trained well to be able to have my chance.
“I am here on loan, but I am where I want to be, and I hope to bring great joy to the fans who have shown me a lot of love since I arrived”.
Fernando Pacheco arrived to strengthen the goalkeeper ranks, saying, “This is a step forward in my career. [Deadline day] was a very long day. I have to thank the effort of many people who made sure that this move could be done. The opportunity to come here arose and I really wanted to make it happen”.
The goalkeeper also revealed getting advice from former teammate Joselu, who he has now reunited with at Espanyol. “I spoke more to Joselu yesterday than with my mother!”, he joked. “He is exploding this year, he is a player of national team level.”
José Gragera underlined his gratitude to the Club, having arrived from Sporting de Gijón on deadline day. He said, “I am grateful to Espanyol for putting their trust in me. It is a very nice challenge and I approach it with great enthusiasm. There were other offers, but I chose Espanyol because it is where I want to be”.
The 22-year-old also revealed, “I like to help and improve my teammates. I come from a club that also has a lot of pressure on a daily basis, but I think I'm ready for this challenge and whatever comes next”.
Mao Ye, Club CEO, said, “We are triple happy with this presentation and to welcome these new players. I thank them for their effort to join this great team and to enjoy the remainder of the season with us”.
Domingo Catoira, the Club’s sports director, said, "We are satisfied that we are able to count on these players and that they can accompany us in this project”.
