"The project is remarkable"
Oscar Gil notes that the Second Division is a very competitive category
RCD Espanyol presented its third signing of the season this Monday: Oscar Gil, whose first hours as a blue and white player have been very intense. Accompanied by the general director and the CEO of RCD Espanyol, Jose Maria Duran, and the club's sports director, Francisco Joaquin Perez Rufete, Oscar Gil has been enthusiastic about joining the Espanyol club.
"Thank you for trusting me," said Gil. "I am very happy to be part of the parakeet family. I'm keen to get started and achieve the goal," he remarked. Gil considers himself a "quite competitive" player, and has added that he likes to play offensively. "I put the work in and I want to be at my best for when the coach needs it," he stressed.
The defender commented that all competition is "good for the player," and said that "I will try to do my bit and, when my turn comes, give my best." Gil also said that “we've seen that the Second Division is a very competitive league. If you relax, it can get complicated because the season is very long and a lot can happen. With the support of the fans, we will get to the top”.
The new right back stressed that Espanyol is "a historic club," and stressed that "the project they presented to me was remarkable; I did not hesitate to switch to the team. It is a historic club and that is why I came here”.
Duran has pointed out that he is "very happy" about the new addition, and Rufete has stated that "he will give us good energy. He has just achieved promotion with his team and he is going to help us fight for the goal”.
