"The goal is to achieve the highest possible points"
Gerard encourages his teammates to continue to make the most of this straight season finale
Having overcome the derby against FC Barcelona, Espanyol is already thinking about Sunday's game against Deportivo de la Coruña (Riazor, 18.30h). The blue-and-white player Gerard Moreno has pointed out that the goal of the team is to continue to score points and finish in the best possible position.
"I hope the defeat will not affect us. The team is thinking about Sunday's game. There are three matches where we will give everything to achieve the maximum possible points and finish in the best position. We expected the derby to end in another way but we are looking forward to the last games", he said. Gerard said that they are "three difficult matches in which we want to score points. On Sunday we face a rival that plays to avoid relegation, then we play Valencia which is the last game at home and we want to make our fans happy and then Granada will come".
In this line has insisted that "we will give the maximum to score points; that is our goal. It is not the same to be eighth or tenth; the goal is to add as many points as possible". He has also made clear that he sees "much room for improvement" next season. "By how things are being done, the mentality, the desire to grow and not stop I think things are well done so far," he said.
On the personal side, Gerard, also said he is not worried about his future, has ensured that he has not scored a specific number of goals. "I feel good, with the confidence of the coaching staff and all the people who are always with me," he finished.
