RCD Espanyol and Kelme have presented the three official kits at the Palau de la Música Catalana
The Palau de la Música has been the scene of one of the most marked days of summer: the presentation of the new official kits of the 2018-2019 season. The players of the first blue and white team Javi López, Víctor Sánchez and Sergi Darder were in charge of presenting them in a simple but intense act, full of parakeet sentiment and that has had many familiar faces of ‘espanyolismo’.
RCD Espanyol and Kelme have opted for three models that recover some classic elements and with great acceptance for our fans and supporters. The first one keeps the blue and white colours with wide stripes, while the second bet on the red colour. In the third the yellow predominates with a blue and white stripe in the central part. Three kits with their own identity, strength and punch; a lot of punch.
RCD Espanyol’s vice president, Carlos García Pont, and the CEO of Kelme, Carlos García Cobaleda, were in charge of addressing the attendees. García Pont has begun by recalling that the land on which the Palau de la Música stands belonged to the illustrious perica family De la Riba. "This aspect gives him even more feeling", he said. "This is the union of two brands to build illusion. We are excited about this collaboration. With these shirts we have returned to the root, with the idea of recovering that Espanyol’s feeling that has brought us here".
The CEO of Kelme, Carlos García Cobaleda, thanked the confidence shown by RCD Espanyol and stressed that it is a "strategic" bet. "The expansion of Kelme", commented García Cobaleda, "happened to be an important brand in the best league in the world. Espanyol is the ideal candidate in this journey for their history, because they have competed with the best and, almost always, in First Division. We had never had the pleasure of sponsoring such an important team. Kelme has four teams and Espanyol is the spearhead". Kelme's CEO stated that "we are going to try and work on the development of these collections with a lot of love and passion. We will bet on the vanguard in the second and third, maintaining interest and commitment".
The players have also given their opinion on the new shirts for this season. Javi López, the captain, remarked that "traditional aspects are recovered; I like it very much. All the shirts that carry this shield have to be beautiful". His teammate Victor Sanchez, for his part, pointed out that "I hope we do well and have a great year. I hope many people come to the RCDE Stadium with these shirts". And finally, Sergi Darder stressed that "we face the season with enthusiasm and desire and want to take a step forward."
Feeling Espanyol gives you wings to get to the top and the club hopes, with the help of these kits of Kelme, to achieve the maximum this season.
