RCD Espanyol compensates members and season-ticket holders for this season's closed-door matches
The club will give next season's membership card to all current members for free. The club's 27,883 members will receive their membership cards free of charge for the 20/21 season.
Season-ticket holders will also be given a 20% discount on this year's pass, with several options to choose from.
The unemployed will be able to receive 20% of the payment in cash upon request.
The 20/21 season ticket campaign will not start until next September.
Once the return of the competition is confirmed, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona will allow members to be involved in decision-making, presenting several proposals to compensate current season-ticket holders for the matches that will be played behind closed doors.
Firstly, recognising that our members are the club's most important asset and as a sign of appreciation for all the support throughout this difficult season, the club will give away 2020/2021 season membership cards to this year's 27,883 members, the card that every parrot should have, this year more than ever.
As you know, last year we separated the membership fee from the season-ticket fee. While at this point we do not know when open door matches will resume and, therefore, how future subscriptions will be, the club is taking these steps to make sure that the post-pandemic crisis doesn't leave anyone out of the Espanyol family.
In addition to the gift of the membership card, the club will also compensate 20% of the cost of the season ticket, corresponding to the six matches that will be held behind closed doors, with which season-ticket holders can choose between the following options:
Option 1.- Open credit in a virtual wallet that can be used in the following way:
- Deduct that 20% from the cost of next season's subscription
- Use it for payments in the club's official stores, at the RCDE Escola Dani Jarque or the RCDE Stadium Tour.
Option 2.- For those season-ticket holders who do not wish to receive financial compensation, the club proposes up to 12 tickets (6 double tickets) as compensation, which can be given to a third party or to a group or association when open-door matches can be played in the 20/21 season and until the end of the 21/22 season.
Option 3 .- As we are aware that many people may find themselves in difficult economic situations at this time, the club offers to return this 20% of the total payment in cash to people who are unemployed.
When the conditions and dates of the 20/21 season are announced, the next subscription renewal campaign will be outlined. The club plans to do this in September, subject to how events unfold.
We are a strong, fighting, and persevering club. The end of the season ahead of us will not be easy, and we will have to be more united than ever to achieve the goal. This connection has always been one of the keys to our story. This story will, next season, reach the club's 120th anniversary, and pushes us to join forces, wherever they come from and whatever they are, with the aim of always supporting the team and providing it strength.
Finally, we want to thank all the fans for the support they have always given us. We can't wait to see you soon in our Temple, the RCDE Stadium, cheering on the team.
