"Playing again was great for me"
Baptistao said that he was looking forward to play again after his injury
One of the most positive news of the match against Deportivo Alavés was the return of Leo Baptistao. The Brazilian footballer, who had not played an official match since last December, reappeared in front the Vitorian squad. "To play again was a great moment for me. I wanted to get in, I was confident, calm and the game went well for everyone. Although I lack some competition rhythm, but whenever the coach considers it, I will be willing to play", he said.
The striker has acknowledged that the recovery has been long: "I had pain, but the club doctors helped me and advised me I had to remain calm. There were better and worse days and I lived with great anxiety because I watched the games go by and I could not do anything”. The player said that during this time he had a lot of support that has allowed him to face the situation. "I feel psychologically backed, I have my family here, my friends and all the people in the club who have helped me", he said. In this sense, Baptistao has assured that he had it clear that he would return to play this campaign. "I never thought the season was over for me, I was calm in that aspect. I did not want to accelerate the steps of recovery so as not to rush; everything was perfectly coordinated".
The forward said that during these months he has seen the team in good shape despite his absence. "From outside looks very easy football, I saw a strong team, intense... We're going from game to game and we're very happy with the games we've played so far".
