RCD Espanyol launches a new awareness and donation campaign for animal rights protectors in Catalonia
As part of the actions RCD Espanyol has done as part of its ‘Solidarity Super League’ (Super Lliga Solidària), the Club has launched a new awareness and donation campaign for animal rights protectors in Catalonia.
RCD Espanyol is a pioneering club committed to society. History shows that it has been the first team to reach important milestones and break barriers. With the hope of continuing to lead initiatives the Club is launching an brand new campaign with a clear aim.
Animal abandonment is one of the great scourges of our society. A study by the Affinity Foundation confirms that in 2022 almost 290,000 animals were abandoned throughout Spain; of these, 170,000 were dogs. A chilling fact. Fortunately, there is an important group of people who care for these animals and try to give them a second chance. With that idea and with all the enthusiasm, RCD Espanyol wants to join this cause.
Starting this Saturday, 14th October, RCD Espanyol will begin the visibility campaign and donation of material for the animal shelters that exist throughout Catalonia. The necessary products consist of blankets, towels, feed and cans of food. The collection points are the official RCD Espanyol stores (Stage Front Stadium, Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque and Balmes) along with the FAN ZONE on Saturday in the tent that will be installed by the Happy Animals Peña.
All levels of the club have joined this campaign and in particular, the members of the first team. The starting lineup will also take to the pitch this Saturday accompanied by dogs belonging to three animal shelters in the Barcelona area: Life 4 Pitbulls, El Club de Kat and ProGolden Barcelona, to promote the adoption of animals; a new action that aims to promote and raise awareness of this campaign.
