#PericoDeCarnet
Members will continue to have free membership and the club will provide new memberships
RCD Espanyol has launched the membership and season-ticket campaign for the 2021-2022 season under the slogan #PericoDeCarnet, and in which four of the following best publicists in the country took part in a charitable way: Toni Segarra, José María Piera, César García and Gustavo Martínez, are united by their passion for the white and blues. “We are Espanyol supporters for each of our own different reasons, and we are very grateful to the club for having joined us and given us the possibility of working together,” stated Piera Martorell.
César García explained that they decided to do “an institutional campaign that talks about the club… After this experience - this negative milestone in our history, we thought that we should use it to gather momentum.” On this matter, he explained that the intention of the season-ticket campaign is to highlight the importance of “the physical fact of having a membership card, and that there is something magic about it. You might say you’re an Espanyol supporter, but the membership card has something more, it makes it more official and has liturgy... You choose to support Espanyol because it’ll make you different... Why don’t we flaunt it? Why not make it positive?”
The campaign promoted by these four creatives and the club encourages all pure white and blue fans to take a step, to feel proud of belonging to our club and becoming a member. “All members during the 20/21 season will receive their 21/22 membership card free of charge.” The big moment is coming when our people come back to the stadium,” emphasised the club's Marketing Director, Toni Alegre.
Director General of RCD Espanyol, José María Durán, recalled that when he arrived at the club, Cornellà-El Prat managed to bring many spectators to the stadium and recalled that the club worked insistently so that the public would return to the stadium. “The fans have been with us through the hardest times,” stated Durán. Alegre emphasised that “we want our members to know that they are the heart of the club.” In relation to the season tickets, he said “we are keeping the same prices since the 19/20 season plus all the discounts and benefits. And we are also adding a 50% discount to season tickets for those on a temporary downsizing plan or the unemployed.
The act was attended by a representative of the Board of Directors, several former players of the first team squad, and a showing of various groups in the social conglomerate.
