Perfect weekend for RCD Espanyol Special
The Special team took three wins out of three at the LaLiga Genuine stage in Vigo
Following the home phase at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque, RCD Espanyol Special returned to action in LaLiga Genuine in style. The team travelled across the country to Vigo, where they won all three matches to go top of the league.
The third phase of the competition kicked off last Friday with the traditional opening ceremony. Captains Germán Martín and Jordi Revenga, and members of the coaching staff, Álex Gutiérrez and José María Francia, represented the team at the ceremony.
Espanyol began their campaign the following morning with a 3-1 victory over UDG Tenerife. On Saturday afternoon, it was an all-Catalan affair against then-league leaders Girona, as a 2-0 win for the Mágico saw them leapfrog their opponents to the top of the table.
The third and final match of the phase saw Espanyol solidify their lead at the top with a victory of the same scoreline, defeating Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. The fourth and final phase of the competition takes place in Villarreal next June with everything to play for.
