Omar El Hilali makes first-team debut at just 17 years old
The under-20 Moroccan international played his first minutes as a white and blue in the victory over Albacete
El Hilali arrived at the younger age group categories in the 2016/2017 season. Since his arrival at the club, and training with the RCDE methodology, he has stood out due to his rapid progress in all categories, having come directly from the under-17 side into the B team this season.
At just 17 years old, the right winger is a regular player in the call-ups for the Morocco national under-20 team in which he played for the African Cup in this category during February.
Omar El Hilali officially debuted with the RCD Espanyol first team on 4 April in the victory over Albacete (0-4), during match 33 of LaLiga SmartBank. The right winger, who had already been called-up several times by Vicente Moreno, played 35 minutes of the match in which he showed a great performance on the pitch after substituting Óscar Gil.
After having played in the first team last August in a friendly match versus Huesca, El Hilali (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, 12 October 2003) formed part of the pre-season first team and is usually called-up for the training sessions led by Vicente Moreno.
