Moreno: "We weren't able to finish our chances"

The coach's view of the loss to Rayo Vallecano

Vicente Moreno spoke after RCD Espanyol's defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano, lamenting a lack of effectiveness in front of goal.

The coach highlighted that “we had two very clear chances at the end and we weren't able to finish them off. We knew that the game would not be easy at all."

“There are many factors that determine what the game is like: The scoreline, the opposition, and areas where they play. We always try to win, but we have teams in front of us who want to do the same. It is not easy, but we came close, especially on the last two moves. We are annoyed because we wanted to beat a team who have been beating us recently when we've played them. Now we have to focus on the next game and try to win at home again."

The coach insisted that “we made mistakes in some moves and we conceded a goal that could be greatly improved upon. We have to accept all the interpretations that are made of the game, with the utmost humility, and try to improve our results."
