Moreno: "We deserved the win"
The coach looks back on the 4-3 triumph over Levante
RCD Espanyol coach, Vicente Moreno, reflected on the 4-3 win against Levante UD on Matchday 17 of the LaLiga season in his post-match press conference.
“We ended up winning, but don't need that madness to gain fans," he commented. "We started well with our first goal, but we were up against a team that handle things well when the game is back and forth. We played the way that they wanted in the first half, but in the second half we deserved the win, against opponents who gave everything to try to beat us," he analysed.
The coach pointed out that “positive conclusions can always be drawn, but there are also aspects that can be improved. It was a very difficult game, but we managed to beat our opponents."
Moreno also highlighted Javi Puado's performance, as he scored twice in the second half.
"He deserved to get his goals. He had enjoyed chances and he is a player who works hard and is involved in the buildup. He always tries to contribute and does what is asked of him."
Finally, he reflected that it was essential to stay calm in the second half, adding that “if we did things well and followed the script, we were going to have a chance to win. It was important not to concede, but the players had that peace of mind. There are things to improve from the second half, as we could have been somewhat better."
