Moreno: "I expect a difficult game against Celta Vigo"
The coach previews Friday's LaLiga match
RCD Espanyol play Celta Vigo away from home on Friday night, and coach Vicente Moreno talked to the media before the game in his pre-match press conference.
"We recently played in the Copa del Rey," he said. "The players are tired. But it is what it is. We have to play the game tomorrow. And we are at full capacity. Calero had been carrying some niggles before that game, and we will see how Nico Melamed is doing. We hope that he is better, but we will see what the doctor tells us."
Up next are two away games, and the coach commented that: "More than thinking about the next two games, against Celta and Valencia, we think about the first one. It is always the right moment to take a step forward. We have taken one in the last few games: It would not have been surprising if we had got something positive against Barça or Rayo Vallecano, and we could have drawn or even won against Barça. We could even be sixth in the table. We also have to have a bit of luck to win, and we haven't had that. We mustn't pay attention to Celta's statistics at home. Celta are a great team. What we have to do is work and demand more from ourselves. It is a matter of time. We could have more points. We want to keep up our performances at home, where we are one of the best teams in the league, and improve our numbers away. In one or two games, everything can change."
On Celta Vigo, Moreno said that: "They are a team with very important players and names, especially up front. I expect a difficult game. They want to finish the year well, win and climb up the table. They will want to win and they have very good players. We will be up against a side who will make the game difficult. We look at the opposition, but we focus on ourselves. We will go out there to win, and if we have to suffer in defence, then so be it."
