Miranda: “We want to give a good image of ourselves”
The RCD Espanyol Femení coach previews the final home match against DUX Logroño Femenino
Carol Miranda previewed RCD Espanyol Femení’s final home match of the season, as they host DUX Logroño Femenino on Sunday.
The women's first team play their last match at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque (kick-off 12pm CEST) of the campaign, before concluding away at Juan Grande Femenino next week. However, for now the focus remains on this weekend and finishing strong in front of the fans, with the Femení coach eager to give the pericos something to smile about.
Miranda said, “The team wants to give a good image this Sunday and finish the season in the best way. It is true that nothing has gone as we wanted, but now it is time to finish in the best possible way after the work done and give the fans some joy.
“The aim is now to finish as high as possible. We can go up a position and we have it in our reach. It is now about winning here and getting the win”.
Espanyol have had a tricky season where they were aiming for promotion to the top tier, before their play-off ambitions slowly faded away in the second half of the season. They host a Logroño side five points off the play-offs and still in contention, though needing maximum points in their final two fixtures.
Speaking on Sunday’s opponents, Miranda explained, “They still have a chance to reach the play-offs, so I am sure that they will come to give it everything. They are a fighting team very hard and tough who will not be easy to beat”.
