Milla: "I wanted to play for Espanyol"
The forward is officially presented as an RCD Espanyol player
Pere Milla had his official presentation as a Espanyol player on Wednesday, and in it he explained that he had no doubts when the possibility of his signing arose a week ago.
“I am very grateful to Elche, but this club is something else altogether: Everything that surrounds the club, how big it is. I wanted to come here,” he told the media.
"From afar, Espanyol are seen for what the club are: A big team in the division, who will be at the top, fighting for promotion. The season is very long, but you have to know that we are Espanyol and that we must be up there."
Milla acknowledged that last season “there was an approach to come here, but it was a difficult summer. This year I had offers from some top flight teams, but I was very clear about where I wanted to go. I didn't care about other options: I wanted to play for Espanyol."
Finally, he stated that it will be a pleasure to work hard for the team.
"You have to have joy. This can't be a burden. We have to enjoy it. We have to remember that this is a team sport and we all have to enjoy playing."
