Mar Rovira joins as new Director of Mental Performance Department

The renowned psychologist joins RCD Espanyol to lead new department focusing on players' mental aspects

Mar Rovira has joined RCD Espanyol to lead the newly created Mental Performance Department that will respond to the needs of the Club’s entire sports structure.

The psychologist and former professional basketball player has worked with elite athletes from different sports such as Moto GP, swimming and tennis, as well as the world of football.

Rovira holds a degree in Psychology, a Master's in Sports Psychology, a Master's in Management and Leadership of Sports Companies and the title of National Basketball Coach from the FEB.

With her incorporation, RCD Espanyol reinforces a fundamental area within the Club and gives strategic meaning to an aspect of athlete care that is key to her performance, both on a personal and professional level. The Department, in which Rovira will have a special focus on monitoring the first team and subsidiary, will grow progressively to respond to the needs of the entire sporting structure, defining a work methodology and monitoring planning that allows optimising processes and improve performance and health of professionals.
