Luis Blanco departs RCD Espanyol

The RCD Espanyol B coach leaves the Club after nine seasons

RCD Espanyol B coach Luis Blanco will depart the Club at the end of the season.

Blanco arrived at the Club in the 2014/15 season as assistant coach of the B team, serving as the right-hand man to then-coach Lluís Planagumà. He then took charge as head coach in the late stages of the 2020/21 season, reaching the Segunda RFEF play-offs in his two full seasons at the helm.

As well as leading the B team, Blanco had stints in charge of the Juvenil A (under-19s), Juvenil B (under-18s) and even the men’s first team, who he led for the final two matches of the previous LaLiga season.

RCD Espanyol wishes to thank Luis for his dedication and commitment during these years as a coach and mentor to so many of our homegrown players. Good luck for the future, Luis!
