Kenneth Soler makes first team debut
Winger becomes seventh current academy player to make first team appearance this season
Kenneth Soler made his first team debut for RCD Espanyol last Saturday, taking another step forward in his formative stage.
The 21-year-old came off the bench in Espanyol’s 3-0 win over CD Rincón in the Copa del Rey match at La Rosaleda. He arrived this summer from Real Madrid Castilla, although was previously part of Espanyol's academy from 2017 to 2020.
The match against Rincón saw Diego Martínez award full debuts to Simo and Dani Villahermosa, in a night in which there were 10 academy players in the squad. To cap it off, one of them was captain Javi Puado, even scoring the opening goal.
With Kenneth’s debut, there are now seven current academy players who have made a competitive first team appearance this season: Simo, Rubén Sánchez, Omar, Dani Villahermosa, Luca Koleosho, Nabil Touaizi and Kenneth.
