Joselu scores on Spain debut
The RCD Espanyol striker scored a brace in Spain's 3-0 win over Norway
Joselu had a day to remember as he made his Spain national team debut on Saturday, scoring a decisive brace against Norway.
The RCD Espanyol came off the bench in the 81st minute, with the team holding onto a one-goal lead at La Rosaleda. Within three minutes, Joselu was on the scoresheet with an excellent header, before adding another striker's finish inside the box a minute later.
Despite being on the pitch for just four minutes, the 32-year-old - soon to be 33 on Monday - had scored two goals on his international debut, helping Spain to a 3-0 victory in their first EURO 2024 qualifier.
Joselu becomes the fastest Spanish player to score two goals on his debut, and the first to do so in 25 years since Fernando Morientes in 1998. Next up for Luis de la Fuente's squad is a trip to face Scotland at Hampden Park, a stadium with a special meaning for pericos.
