"I would give everything to play again"
Jairo is confident to recover fully and be ready to help in the final stretch of the championship
With a slightly broken voice, Jairo recalled this morning the ordeal that has haunted him for almost a year, when he fell injured and had to undergo a tear of the Achilles tendon of his left ankle. Almost a complicated year, as he said, but with the illusion of improving and finishing a season with the option of playing again for a few minutes.
Long-term injury: "It's been a complicated year. I have been standing for seven months and then I have had two muscle injuries. In total, almost a year. I have to thank the entire medical staff, my colleagues and doctors because I am here. Now I just want to chain weeks of training to be better, be with the group and wait for an opportunity".
Future: "I finish contract in June and I do not look further. I want to take the dynamics of training and catch the rhythm. Hopefully I can redebute and play in the remaining nine games. What comes next, we will see. I do not stop to think about the future".
Memories of the injury: "I went through complicated times. I insist on my thanks to the coaching staff and the doctors, who have always been by my side, from the operation, rehabilitation and recovery. It's a complicated injury and I've had bad times, but people have helped me".
Play again: "I would give everything to play again just a single minute only. If the coach thinks of me and could play I would appreciate it. I knew that for a few months I would be without a record because the important thing was that I recovered well. Now I just hope to find the best possible and hopefully I can play again".
Leaving in the winter market: "I had options, but also to stay. The club, the mister and the coaching staff gave me the option to stay and I did. I have done well. Now I have had a couple of muscle injuries, but I know it was a good decision to stay".
Competition: "We all know that he is very big in this team. Every day we all fight to win a job, but I do not lose confidence. I have belonged to this club for many years and hopefully I can play again".
Calendar: "The other day was a hard defeat, but I see that the team does not stop training and having the same desire as when the season began. People should not have doubts that we will do our best to, in the end, be as high as possible".
