Roberto Rosales has been officially presented as a new RCD Espanyol player. Accompanied by the sports general director, Óscar Perarnau, and the professional football director, Francisco Joaquín Pérez Rufete, the new blue and white player remarked that he arrives at a "historic" club and added that he plans to work "hard" to complete the best possible season.
"I come to a historic club. I am so happy to be here. I hope to be part of this history and we can live a beautiful story”, said Rosales. The new player has pointed out that although he has played more often "as right winger, but I am available to the coach to work where he thinks fit".
Rosales said that the goal is "to work hard" and insisted that "I want to compete and help the club. I am ambitious and look for the victory on every match. We have a great staff and I hope I can be of help". The Venezuelan has said that "I wanted to come here for what this club means. I hope to be up to the task so that we can all enjoy together".
The defender, who explained that he will try to adapt quickly to the team, explained that he has seen the games against Valencia and Alavés and said that "it is the way forward. Yesterday we could not achieve the victory, but we have to keep it that way".
Rufete, meanwhile, commented that Rosales can provide "the versatility we need. He has a lot of experience in the league and we believe that the adaptation will be very fast. I have the feeling that it will give us a lot. If he is here, it is because he wants and has had to make an effort. That is something I appreciate".
