"I have returned with all the illusion of the world"
Roberto shows his confidence in "competing and playing, which is the same thing I thought when I arrived two years ago"
Roberto Jiménez faces his third season at Espanyol full of hope and with the feeling that last season, on loan to Málaga, has left the bitterness of the Andalusian team's relegation, but the personal satisfaction of having met at a very high level”.
"I have returned with all the illusion of the world," he says, while remembering that his possible return was always conditioned by contractual issues. "Nobody owns the destination and the circumstances, but the reception of the club and the fans has been wonderful. That means that my illusions are renewed and trying to recover the same feelings I had two years ago, when I signed for this club".
With one year contract, he assures that "I want to be here, compete and play. I would love to be here a long time. I think the same as two years ago, when I arrived. I will compete and fight in a healthy way to be as important as possible in the team".
He insists that assuming the role of substitute "is an incorrect starting point. It's something that we all have to win in the field. The coach chooses you one day and another does not, but seasons are long and you have to fight them. The competition and that the team has a high level will arise from nobody taking their role in any position or at any time during the season".
He said that he has "new sensations, renewed and that makes me think that I am in a new cycle, although it has next to players to whom already I knew".
