Gragera: "The team have returned recharged and working hard"
The midfielder looks ahead to the derby against Girona FC
The international break concludes this weekend and LaLiga action returns to the agenda, with RCD Espanyol picking back up their season with a derby against Girona FC.
José Gragera spoke about the task ahead for Los Pericos, who play on Saturday afternoon in the road trip.
“The team have returned recharged. We are working hard and want to continue preparing for the game this weekend. We are focused on the match against Girona and if we match them in intensity and attitude we will be in a position to win," he commented in the run-up to the match.
Three consecutive defeats have put RCD Espanyol back in a precarious position, but Gragera is urging the team and the fans to soak up the pressure.
"We have to be calm. We are working well. There are many points still to play for. I have a lot of confidence in this team and I'm really looking forward to the weekend to start the uphill climb to take points. The Espanyol fans are exemplary and I know that many people will go to Montilivi. They are always with us and support us from the get-go," added the midfielder.
Grabbing headlines with his form for Spain is RCD Espanyol striker Joselu, who scored a brace on his debut against Norway.
“He is a great player," said Gragera. "I'm proud of him for scoring those two goals. He is a top striker and he is showing it. Hopefully today (against Scotland) he can continue scoring, but I hope that he saves some for when he returns to us!"
