The Catalan striker and the club reach an agreement to extend the player's contract
RCD Espanyol and Gerard Moreno have reached an agreement to extend the player's contract until June 2022. Gerard, who returned to the white and blue club in the 2015-2016 season after have been in the youth academy, has signed his new contract this Wednesday at the RCDE Stadium accompanied by the sports general director, Óscar Perarnau. This new agreement includes a 40 million euro clause that will become a 50 million clause from the beginning of the 2018-2019 season.
Gerard Moreno was formed in the lower categories of RCD Espanyol before going through different clubs such as Badalona, Villarreal or Mallorca where he played on loan. The striker returned to the white and blue club in the summer of 2015. The player, who is nowadays one of the captains of the squad, in his third season in the first team. Gerard has played 86 official matches with Espanyol in which he has scored 24 goals. The striker of Santa Perpetua de la Mogoda is a true reference for his teammates and the fans; pure love and commitment. Now, club and player, they extend their relationship until at least the summer of the year 2022.
The number '7' will make a press conference for media this Friday at the RCDE Stadium at 1:30pm.
