García: "We have to keep believing"
The coach reacts to the 3-2 defeat to Sevilla
Luis García was resolute in his post-match press conference following the defeat against Sevilla on LaLiga Matchday 33, and insisted that his side need to have confidence in their chances of survival in the top flight.
“We have to keep believing. We cannot throw in the towel and abandon things, because that is useless. That is not going to happen here," he stated.
The coach acknowledged that he had to make changes in the second half due to fatigue amongst his players after a busy few weeks.
"It was a tough day, but I feel proud of the attitude the team had. We are sad and we take responsibility for this situation," he continued by saying.
“We didn't see it as an easy task last week, nor as impossible now. We have to be mentally strong and fight every day as if it were the last. I don't understand football any other way. You have to keep believing and keep on working. That is what I have always been taught. Everything is possible. There are five games left and we are three points away from lifting ourselves out of the relegation zone. We have to keep believing."
