The coach, who in his pre-match press conference gave details about the about the availability of the injured César Montes, Dimata and Braithwaite, previewed the weekend's contest.
He explained that they will face “a team that seem to put together a new squad every season. They have very young players, some newcomers to the division, and they want to revitalise themselves. We are going to find ourselves in a real contest, against very good opponents. They won their first game and lost the second, and that shows that, in this division, you have to find the required consistency. This Sunday we have a litmus test. We are very motivated for it."
Among the opposition names that the coach singled out was Rubén Sánchez, now on loan at Mirandés.
"He had been in the first team for several years, but he needs to play. We have seen his progression. He is at an age where he needs to compete and play games. I expect him to get that there and for him to come back as a much more complete player."
He also noted that Javi Puado has been able to train normally in recent days.
“We coaches make the most of his commitment. He has had to take a step forward. He's a total player and this has to be a breakout season for him. We have to be patient and make sure that his minutes are quality ones."
Lastly, regarding the last week of the transfer market, he noted that he is “waiting for it to close and for everybody to know where they are at. We are working to raise the level and performance of the squad."
