García: "Really looking forward to start"
The RCD Espanyol coach gives his thoughts on the 2023/24 fixture schedule release
RCD Espanyol coach Luis García has emphasised the team’s excitement to start the new season upon the release of the schedule.
Wednesday saw the 2023/24 LaLiga season fixtures announced, with Espanyol starting away to Albacete on the weekend of 12th/13th August.
García said, “We would have loved to start the season at home with our fans, but we will have to travel to Albacete, where we will face a good team with a coach who continues on from last season where they reached the play-offs. I am really looking forward to start, we are very enthusiastic to be as well prepared as possible for that first match”.
After the trip to Albacete, Espanyol will begin their campaign at the Stage Front Stadium the following matchday with the visit of Real Racing Club de Santander.
The coach explained, “It will be special because we will be with our people and our fans again and let them enjoy themselves. During this year we hope to bring them joy and, among all of us, make our ground a fortress and get the three points because that will be one of the bases to achieve our objective”.
Lastly, García pointed out ,“We are really looking forward to meeting up with the boys again. We want to start working and build the path we want to follow. We want to be a totally recognisable team and together with the Club, players and fans achieve the goal of returning to the First Division”.
