García: "It's time to think and plan"
The coach reflects on the 3-3 draw with UD Almería
RCD Espanyol coach Luis García spoke after his side's 3-3 draw against UD Almería on the final day of the LaLiga season, and declared that “the team came into the game motivated and switched on, especially in the offensive phase, but scored three goals with barely any chances. From there you can assess many situations. It is time to think and plan."
Regarding the planning of the next season, he confessed that “there must be tweaks, but we have part of the path done and worked on. We could not dwell on details due to time constraints, but now there is time to get closer to what we want. I'm looking forward to that meeting with Chen. Everything will also be affected by the speed of the transfer market. We have the possibility of participating with the same players. We have to find out which players interest us. We have to move on with all of that. We must have a balance between young players, who I believe in and always bring freshness, motivation and feeling. The only thing is to be brave, and I am that. You have to find a balance between players with experience and a high level."
Lastly, he thanked Almería for their behaviour with their protest. “I want to thank Almería for the solidarity that they showed. When there are factors that negatively influence the result of a team, it's nice that they join in with it. It was necessary for us to be heard and the team rose to the occasion,” he concluded.
