Espanyol will play on August 5th at 13.30 local time against the Premier League team
Espanyol already has its first rival for this preseason. The team managed by Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia, Rubi, will face Burnley FC on August 5 at 13.30 local time (14.30 Peninsular time) in Turf Moor. The English team finished in seventh place this season in the Premier League and will play in the preliminary stage of the Europa League.
Coach Sean Dyche, who took the reins of the team in 2012, and defender James Tarkowski were candidates for best coach and player of the Premier League last season, respectively.
Founded in 1882, Burnley have twice won the Premier League (1920-21, 1959-1960) and have been runner-up in two others (1919-20, 1961-62). In addition, they won the FA Cup in the 1913-14 season and were runner-up in the 1946-47 and 1961-62 campaigns. 'The Clarets' also won the Community Shield in the 1960s and 1973s. Their last European participation was in the 1966-67 course at the defunct FA Cup.
