Espanyol Media launches new OTT
RCD Espanyol debut a new digital platform to offer the best audiovisual content to fans
RCD Espanyol are taking a step forward in our digital and audiovisual strategy with the launch of a new OTT platform, a project that will offer fans exclusive and innovative access to the club's content. This initiative is part of the growth and consolidation of Espanyol Media, the club's audiovisual brand, which has become a benchmark within the Spanish digital ecosystem.
With the new OTT platform, fans will be able to enjoy exclusive content such as full men's and women's first team games, historical archives coinciding with the club's 125th anniversary, and premium content developed under Espanyol Media's own label. This platform will also feature live broadcasts of La21 fixtures and preseason friendlies, the flagship product of the club's audiovisual programming.
This new service, which evolves from a web TV platform to a multimedia service platform, will allow for a better user experience, with access from Smart TVs and mobile devices, and full integration with the club's other digital assets such as the official app and website.
RCD Espanyol have a strategic alliance with Vidneo (Lavínia Group), an audiovisual services provider with which the club have collaborated for three years. This work together has helped strengthen other projects, such as the first 360-degree football match broadcast in Spain, a pioneering experience that offered fans total immersion in the action.
With the implementation of the new OTT comes an evolution in commercial strategy, generating new monetisation opportunities through registrations, assets for sponsors, and subscription models. This approach will drive project growth and open up new high-quality content to fans.
The expansion of Espanyol Media has had a notable impact on the club's digital presence, reaching more than 10 million followers on social media and growing 400% in the last two years. Furthermore, content views have increased by 86.2%, consolidating its position as a leading platform in the sports audiovisual landscape.
With this new OTT, RCD Espanyol continue to meet cutting-edge digital and technological challenges and strengthen the bond with fans, offering them a more accessible, innovative, and immersive experience than ever before.
